ArmInfo.On May 29th, on the sidelines of the Schuman Security and Defence Forum, the Minister of Defence of the Republic of Armenia, Suren Papikyan, held a meeting with the Chairman of the EUMC, General Robert Brieger, the press service of the RA MoD reports.
The discussions focused on Armenia-EU cooperation in the defence sector. The parties reached an agreement to enhance cooperation in areas of mutual interest. The Defence Minister presented the ongoing reforms within the Armenian Armed Forces. Additionally, regional security issues were addressed during the meetings.
Today, in the framework of the Schuman Security and Defence Forum, the Armenian Minister also held meetings with the Deputy Secretary General for Peace, Security, and Defence of the EEAS, Charles Fries, the Chair of the Political and Security Committee of the Council of the European Union, Delphine Pronk, and the Managing Director for Russia, Eastern Partnership, Central Asia, Regional Cooperation, and the OSCE at the European External Action Service, Michael Siebert. Issues related to Armenia-EU cooperation in defence field, as well as discussions on regional security, were addressed.
