ArmInfo. A group of members of the European Parliament joined a number of public organizations and expressed their concern about the methods and haste in carrying out the process of demarcation and delimitation of the borders of the Republic of Armenia and the Republic of Azerbaijan. This was reported by the initiative "Tavush in the name of the Motherland".
"Unfortunately, it is obvious that demarcation and delimitation are carried out under the threat of aggression against the Republic of Armenia, which undermines the legitimacy of the process. A stable and lasting peace can only be achieved in the absence of force and the threat of force. We understand that the protest movement led by Archbishop Bagrat Galstanyan , reflects the concern of various layers of Armenian society with ontological problems.
Thus, we call on the government of Armenia to refrain from using disproportionate force, as well as any other steps that may prevent the citizens of Armenia from exercising their constitutional rights," the statement said.
The statement was signed by Member of the European Parliament, European Conservatives and Reformists Group Emmanuel Fragcos, Member of the European Parliament, Socialists and Democrats Ilan De Basso, Member of the European Parliament, Member of the European Conservatives and Reformists Group Charlie Weimers, Member of the European Parliament, Member of the European Conservatives and Reformists Group reformists Lars Patrick Berg, Member of the European Parliament, European People's Party Stelios Kimpouropoulos, Member of the European Parliament, European People's Party Maria Sbiraki, Member of the European Parliament, European People's Party Lukas Fourlas, Member of the European Parliament, Friendship Party - Cyprus Costas Mauritis.
