Vardan Azatyan appointed rector of State Academy of Fine Arts 

ArmInfo. Vardan Azatyan became the rector of the State Art Academy with a term of office of 5 years.    The RA government approved his candidacy at a meeting on May 23.

Introducing the candidate, RA Minister of Education, Science, Culture  and Sports Zhanna Andreasyan noted that on May 6, 2024, a competition  was held to fill the vacant position of rector of the State Academy  of Arts of Armenia Foundation, in which two candidates took part:  candidates of art history Vardan Azatyan and Arthur Oganesyan. The  latter was a member of the university's Board of Trustees. The  competition was held in accordance with the foundation's charter. 19  of the 20 council members took part in the meeting. The election of  the rector took place in two stages, as a result of which associate  professor Vardan Azatyan was elected rector by secret ballot with 18  votes in favor (1 ballot was invalid).
