ArmInfo. The so-called delimitation of the state border in the Tavush region of Armenia, is taking place without any explanation or reason. Former Armenian Ombudsman Arman Tatoyan wrote on his Facebook page.
"Who gave you the right, through political decisions and without legal grounds, to carry out a secret "delimitation" in Kirants (a village in Tavush, ed. note), which concerns the state border of our country, the security of each of us?", asks Tatoyan.
As the former human rights defender pointed out, the police made arbitrary decisions to limit the free movement of citizens villagers and journalists carrying out professional activities in Kirnats. "Police checkpoints have been established without legal basis, and they allow the movement of people only at their discretion," he noted.
Arman Tatonya recalled that issues of the state border and border security concern every citizen of the Republic of Armenia, and first of all, border residents, their vital rights - any restrictions require public reporting and proper legal justification.
"Meanwhile, by interfering with the professional activities of journalists and the free movement of people, illegal decisions are secretly and unaccountably implemented," he emphasized.
Notably, according to the protocol-description of the commission on delimitation and demarcation of borders, Azerbaijan will have to receive two houses, a bridge, a section of the interstate road to Georgia and about 50 land plots in the area of the village of Kirants, Tavush region of the Republic of Armenia.
