ArmInfo.By building a road in Kirants, the safety of the village residents will be ensured. Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure of the Republic of Armenia Gnel Sanosyan told media representatives during a trip to the village.
Notably, the village residents were interested, first of all, in specific areas of the territories that would be transferred to Azerbaijan, in order to know whether to stay in the village or not. The minister noted that a road will be built to provide communication between the Kirans and the republic.
Sanosyan told reporters that each person can have his own opinion on the issue of security, but the department he heads is trying to make the situation manageable. When asked if the country's authorities are sure that the enemy will not attack the civilian population after these areas come under the control of Baku, the minister said. "If we leave this issue to you, there will be no peace with Azerbaijan at all." The minister presented the government's plans to the villagers - to build a wall, a road, a bridge, and left. Outraged residents say that this position is unacceptable to them, and they do not intend to leave their homes. "We are probably the only country where citizens are fighting with their own government against the surrender of territories," said one of the village residents.
As part of the borders delimitation, a part of the territory of the village of Kirants, which includes two houses, a bridge, a section of the interstate road to Georgia and about 50 land plots, should pass to Azerbaijan.
