ArmInfo.On May 17, in Strasbourg, a meeting was held between Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia Ararat Mirzoyan and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Federal Republic of Germany Annalena Baerbock.
According to the press service of the RA Foreign Ministry, during the meeting the interlocutors noted with satisfaction the active dynamics of the high-level political dialogue between the two countries, emphasizing the opportunities for deepening partnership both on a bilateral basis and on the EU platform. The parties noted the decisive steps taken towards strengthening democracy and the rule of law in Armenia and issues of interaction with international partners in this direction.
"The Armenian government is committed to both democratic reforms and peace programs, and the continued support of our international partners is critical to ensuring tangible progress," said the Armenian Foreign Minister.
During the meeting, an exchange of views on regional economic programs and issues of Armenia's participation in them, including in the field of renewable energy took place.
Continuing the discussion of regional topics, the foreign ministers of Armenia and Germany touched upon the security situation in the South Caucasus.
Ararat Mirzoyan presented to his counterpart the latest developments in the process of normalization of Armenian-Azerbaijani relations, including negotiations on the draft peace treaty in Almaty.
In turn, referring to the statement of the German Minister of Foreign Affairs, the German Foreign Office noted on its page on X (formerly Twitter), that Armenia and Azerbaijan have a historical opportunity to achieve peace.
"In talks with her Armenian counterpart Ararat Mirzoyan, Annalena Baerbock emphasised Germany's willingness to continue supporting the peace process. It is crucial to continue the dialogue now," the message notes.
