ArmInfo. Residents of the border village of Kirants in the Tavush region of Armenia closed the interstate road leading to Georgia, thereby expressing their protest against the decisions of the commission on delimitation and demarcation of borders with Azerbaijan.
Chief of the regional police department, Artur Mkrtchyan, arrived at the meeting with the participants of the action protesting against this decision, who invited the villagers to hold a closed meeting with the regional governor Hayk Ghalumyan, without the participation of press representatives. However, this initiative did not meet with understanding from the village residents, who demanded to meet with the head of the regional administration right on the road and in the presence of journalists.
MP from the opposition faction Gegham Nazaryan, who has roots from this village, also arrived in the village. A verbal altercation arose between him and the residents of Kirants, which almost escalated into direct confrontation. "You, as a resident of the village, tell me, what suggestions do you have for getting out of this situation?", the villagers asked the MP, who seriously lost his temper and demanded that the media representatives not film what was happening.
