Back in March of this year, Russian Ambassador to Armenia Sergei Kopyrkin reported that the above- mentioned observation posts of Russian border guards on the border of Armenia and Azerbaijan were placed at the personal request of Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.
Earlier, Pashinyan said that Russian border guards would be withdrawn from Zvartnots airport by August 1 of this year.
