ArmInfo. The governments of Armenia and Georgia agreed to resume the work of the commissions on delimitation and demarcation of the state border, Armenia's Deputy FM Vahan Kostanyan told reporters.
According to him, this work has practically not been carried out for a long period of time. Both states, as the deputy minister noted, have updated the composition of the commissions, but their joint meeting has not yet been held. The parties are currently doing their homework. "There is hope for holding the first meeting in the near future. Work on border delimitation should be carried out within the framework of the Almaty Declaration of 1991," Kostanyan said.
In January 2024, Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan, after a meeting with his Georgian counterpart Irakli Garibashvili, said that the parties agreed to resume work on border delimitation, which, according to the current situation, is two-thirds completed.
