ArmInfo. The Armenian National Assembly opposition intends to initiate an extraordinary meeting of the National Assembly on the issue of delimitation and demarcation of borders with Azerbaijan. MP from the opposition faction Artur Khachatryan stated on April 1 in a conversation with journalists.
He noted that after the 44-day war in Artsakh, RA Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan constantly threatens the people with war if Yerevan does not satisfy Baku's demands. "He openly blackmails, and under this sauce, he is surrendering one territory after another. Remember Khtsaberd, Jermuk, Sev Lich, Shorzha: How much is possible? Azerbaijan, seeing the compliance of the authorities, is increasingly tightening its demands," the parliamentarian said, adding, that now the turn has reached four villages of the Tavush region.
"In the process of delimitation and demarcation of borders, there are many circumstances unknown to us in this matter. We expect that the authorities will present and explain on what basis they claim that the territories in the Tavush region belong to Azerbaijan," Khachatryan emphasized. He added that the opposition intends to convene a meeting next week, during the next plenary meeting of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia.
Recently, RA Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan announced that the authorities will protect every millimeter of the country's territory. At the same time, the prime minister mentions the threat of a new war if Armenia refuses to demarcate the borders and does not return the villages to the control of Azerbaijan.
