Azerbaijan continues its policy against Armenia now - Gegham  Stepanyan

Azerbaijan is pursuing a systemic genocidal policy towards the Armenian people, and if we resist it through a concessionary and defeatist position, this will lead us to new tragedies, Gegham Stepanyan, the human rights defender of Nagorno-Karabakh, stated on March 29, speaking at the American University of Armenia.

He noted that the policy that Azerbaijan pursued towards Artsakh  continues today towards Armenia. At the same time, the Ombudsman  expressed regret that, within the framework of the negotiation  process, Armenia does not raise the issue of the fate of those  missing, including during the explosion at a gas station in  Stepanakert, as well as the detention of Artsakh government  officials.

As a result of the collection of facts as a result of the September  aggression of 2023, according to the Defender of Rights, 223 people  were killed, of which 21 were civilians, of which 6 were children,  another 21 people are considered missing. 238 people died during the  explosion at a gas station, and nothing is known about the fate of 20  people.

A result of the full-scale military aggression of Azerbaijan on  September 19 of this year. in relation to Nagorno-Karabakh, which was  preceded by a total blockade for 9 months, about 102 thousand  citizens of Artsakh were forcibly transferred to Armenia. However, in  total, as a result of Azerbaijani aggression, starting from the  44-day Artsakh war in 2020, 150 thousand Artsakh residents were left  homeless.
