ArmInfo.The partnership between Azerbaijan and NATO was discussed today at a meeting between Azerbaijani Defense Minister Zakir Hasanov and Alliance Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg.
According to the press service of the military department of this country, the NATO Secretary General was provided with detailed information about the reforms being carried out in the army, mine clearance and the current situation on the border between Azerbaijan and Armenia.
Hasanov spoke "about the successes achieved in cooperation with NATO" and noted "the importance of further development of relations."
Stoltenberg highly appreciated the professionalism of the Azerbaijani army personnel in peacekeeping missions and their activities in other areas within the framework of the partnership with NATO. He emphasized that close cooperation between the Azerbaijani-Turkish armed forces strengthens Azerbaijan- NATO relations.
The parties also discussed prospects for developing cooperation in the field of cybersecurity, mine clearance, as well as in other areas of military relations. A broad exchange of views took place on regional security and a number of other issues of mutual interest, Turan reports.
