"On February 28, at around 05:15, a serviceman of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces who was armed with an AKM-type assault rifle with a clip, crossed the Armenian-Azerbaijani contact line in the border area of the Tegh community of Syunik region. The latter was disarmed by servicemen of the Armenian Ministry of Defense. In connection with the incident, the Investigative Committee of Armenia opened a criminal case under the relevant articles of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Armenia," the NSS noted, noting that the investigation is ongoing.
Earlier, a number of public and political figures reported that two Azerbaijani servicemen crossed the territory of Armenia. It was noted that one was detained, and the other escaped. The Armenian side is searching for him.
The Ministry of Defense of Azerbaijan has confirmed the fact that the Azerbaijani military has crossed the territory of Armenia. The department noted that on the morning of February 28, "while moving between positions in the Lachin region, a soldier of the Azerbaijan Army Panahov Ruslan Eldeniz oglu got lost in unfavorable weather conditions."
