ArmInfo. "As a member of the National Assembly, a member of the ruling Civil Contract faction, Ido not have any information regarding the visit of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy to Armenia," Deputy Chairman of the National Assembly Committee on Economic Affairs Babken Tunyan said on February 26.
According to him, other members of the faction are also not aware of the visit. However, as the parliamentarian noted, this visit is not exactly so unlikely.
When asked whether he sees risks in the context of the deterioration of Armenian-Russian relations, Tunyan noted that the President of Ukraine is the elected head of the country and, like the presidents of other countries, can visit Armenia unless there is a special ban on this.
In response to the remark that this could be a message to Russia, since it is the American side that is insisting on Zelenskyy's visit, a member of the ruling faction noted that he had not seen any official statement on this matter. "An anti-Russian tone can be found in everything, if you look for it, the same thing could be seen during Armenia's ratification of the Rome Statute. While there is no official statement on this matter, let me not comment on this issue," Tunyan said.
The Armenian press is actively discussing the issue of the visit of the President of Ukraine to Armenia on March 4 of this year. Moreover, the visit will be of a regional nature; Apart from Armenia, the head of the Ukrainian state will also visit Azerbaijan.
