ArmInfo.Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan states that the document on strategic partnership between Armenia and Georgia reflects the will of the governments of the two countries to move forward on the entire agenda of relations.
He made the statement on February 7 at government hour in parliament, answering a question about the strategic partnership agreement that he signed with his Georgian counterpart Irakli Garibashvili during his official visit to Georgia at the end of January.
According to Pashinyan, the modern world is no longer the same as it was several years ago. The world around us has changed, as has the nature of Armenia's relations with the countries of the region, and the region itself, he noted. "Many realities have changed in our region, one of them is that last year Georgia officially received the status of a candidate for accession to the EU," the prime minister said.
According to Pashinyan, whether we like it or not, this objectively affects our region. "Two of the four neighboring countries are candidates for EU membership. And if earlier we could say "where is the European Union and where are we?", now the reality is that the EU is our region. In this context, I consider the strategic dialogue with Georgia very important," said the Armenian prime minister.
