ArmInfo. In an interview with Armenia's Public TV, Armenian NA Vice-Speaker Ruben Rubinyan stated that he is unwilling to change either the National emblem or the National Anthem of Armenia.
In this regard, he emphasized that the "Civil Contract" party and faction and the government do not currently have any decision related to changing state symbols.
Regarding the change in the name of the subject "Armenian History" to "History of Armenia", Rubinyan asked the question: "What is the problem with the word "Armenia"? Armenia is our homeland now and in general in history Armenia has always been our homeland. What is the problem with the subject being called "History of Armenia"? Isn't the history of the entire Armenian people the history of a people who tried to create a state, become independent and preserve this state?> The fact that this issue is one of the main topics raised by the opposition, according to the vice speaker, indicates that the latter do not have a political voice.
Speaking about the intention of the authorities to change the Constitution, Rubinyan called the accusations that this was being done on the order of Azerbaijan groundless. "I declare with full responsibility that the adoption of the Constitution is the sovereign right of the Republic of Armenia, and only citizens of Armenia can decide to accept the Constitution or not, in what form, and so on," he emphasized.
Meanwhile, we note that yesterday in his telegram channel, the head of the Armenian Parliament Alen Simonyan wrote: "It is obvious to me that the anthem of the Republic of Armenia must sooner or later change, it must be Armenian, have a connection with our state and Armenian music and comply with the rules singing the anthem."
He also pointed out the possibility of discussing the issue of changing the coat of arms. "At least Armenia cannot be under water, which was the punishment for humanity during the Great Flood, it cannot be a lion, like the emoji on Facebook, it cannot be a sword protecting Armenia, chained," Simonyan wrote. apparently, hinting at the need to exclude Mount Ararat from the coat of arms of the country, on which Noah found refuge during the Great Flood, which Turkey insisted and continues to insist on.
Earlier Armenian Premier Nikol Pashinyan also criticized the state emblem of the country.
