ArmInfo.Yerevan believes that negotiations with Baku on the normalization of Armenian-Azerbaijani relations should continue on Western platforms. Chairman of the RA National Assembly Commission on Foreign Relations Sargis Khandanyan stated this in a conversation with journalists on January 10.
"It is very important for us to continue the already established negotiation formats. You know that a format for meetings of foreign ministers has been formed in Washington, as well as a format for negotiations between leaders of countries through the mediation of the European Union. This adds legitimacy to the negotiations," he said.
Khandanyan noted that Armenia gives the importance of consolidating previously agreed principles in the future of a peaceful contract, in the absence of which the document will not have the values that Yerevan expects.
The head of the commission also added that Yerevan insists on the opening of regional communications as part of the sovereignty and jurisdictions of the countries on which they should pass, but is ready to consider certain privileges regarding the movement of goods, vehicles and people.
