ArmInfo. The past year has been very difficult for many countries, including Armenia. Spokesperson of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova stated on Wednesday during a weekly briefing.
So, to clarify what she would wish for the Armenian people in the coming year, the diplomat expressed her belief that addressing the people of a specific country is the right of the leaders of the given countries or the leaders of another state, but at the highest level. "I can only unofficially say and state that the past year has been difficult for many countries and peoples of the world, and it has also been difficult for Armenia and our friendly Armenian people. We see attempts by external forces to draw Yerevan into even more dangerous geopolitical games. We see how the West is absolutely indifferent to the fate of the Armenian people - they use their feelings, historical memory, pain and suffering exclusively for their own interests," she noted.
At the same time, the diplomat emphasized Moscow's readiness to contribute to the peace and stability of Armenia in every possible way, considering the allied relations between Armenia and Russia. "This is truly of utmost importance for us, for a number of reasons, including from the point of view of overcoming common challenges," Zakharova continued. At the same time, she stated that thanks to trade and economic relations with Russia and other countries, including the EAEU states, the Armenian economy is demonstrating impressive growth.
"For our part, we are committed to the further implementation of all projects of key cooperation. We see good prospects for normalizing relations between Yerevan and Baku on the basis of trilateral agreements between the leaders of Armenia, Russia and Azerbaijan for 2020-2022. There are prerequisites for establishing relations between Armenia and Turkey. And in general, we are interested in reducing conflict in the South Caucasus and ocontributing the rich potential of this region, including through the 3+3regional consultative platform," she said.
In conclusion, Zakharavan wished the Armenian people peace, prosperity and less problems than they were this year.
