ArmInfo. On December 11, in front of the building of the Ministry of Environment, there is a rally of fish farmers protesting against the adoption of a law aimed at the use of circulating water from artesian wells.
Protesters complained that large sums of money were required to comply with the law. Meanwhile, almost all fish farms in the republic are under a credit burden. The proposed Chinese pumps fail very quickly, and if the breakdown is not corrected within 1-2 hours, the fish will practically die.
Fish farmers also complained that the authorities did not keep their promises to create a working group to determine the procedure for using groundwater, in which they were planned to be included. According to representatives of fish farms, currently about 700 sources are used illegally. They demanded that they be closed first, and not turn a blind eye to this fact. The use of innovations, according to fish farmers, could lead to the reduction of 15-20 thousand jobs.
The protesters were asked to wait three days for an invitation from the ministry, but they did not agree. Some of the protesters went to the government building demanding a meeting with Deputy Prime Minister Tigran Khachatryan, while others remained at the ministry building.
