ArmInfo. Armenian Security Council Sec Armen Grigoryan and Ms Laura Cooper, U.S. Deputy  Assistant Secretary of Defense for Russia, Ukraine, Eurasia, discussed defense cooperation. 

According to the press service of the Armenian Security Council, the  need to ensure stability in the region was emphasized at the meeting.  The parties exchanged views on the prospects for the implementation  of bilateral joint programs and emphasized the importance of  cooperation in the framework of peacekeeping activities and deepening  interaction between the Armed Forces of the two countries.

The interlocutors mutually emphasized the importance of work aimed at  increasing democratic governance and accountability of the Armed  Forces of Armenia.
