EP Foreign Affairs Committee votes for CFSP, CSDP reports, which  condemn Azerbaijan`s attack on Nagorno- Karabakh

ArmInfo.European Parliament Committee on Foreign Affairs (AFET) voted for the Common Foreign and Security Policy (CFSP) and Common Security and Defense Policy (CSDP) reports today, which, among other things, condemn Azerbaijan's attack on Nagorno-Karabakh. Armenian Ambassador to Belgium Tigran Balayan reports on his X.

According to Balayan, the abovementioned reports also demand the  protection of the Armenian cultural and historical heritage in  Nagorno-Karabakh, call for sanctions against the Aliyev regime and  the suspension of the "Memorandum of Understanding on Strategic  Energy Partnership", and also reiterate support for the democratic  government of Armenia.

We add that the CFSP report on Turkey emphasizes "Unless the Turkish  government drastically changes course, Trkiye's EU accession process  cannot resume under the current circumstances". At the same time,  "Urging the Turkish government, the European Union and its member  states to break the current deadlock and move towards a closer  partnership, MEPs recommend finding a parallel and realistic  framework for EU-Turkiye relations, and call on the Commission to  explore possible formats.".
