ArmInfo. American journalist Lindsey Snell commented on the remarks of Spokesman for Turkey's ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP) Omer Celik, that the United States demanded that Turkey stop supporting Azerbaijan over Nagorno-Karabakh in exchange for the supply of F- 16 fighter jets to Ankara.
"Today, Erdogan's AKP party spokesman said that the US told Turkey to stop supporting Azerbaijan in its attacks on Nagorno-Karabakh as a condition for purchasing the F-16 and F-35. "We will not accept this blackmail," Celik said," Lindsey Snell wrote in on her X, sarcastically stating that, "They'll get the jets anyway".
Yesterday, during a press conference, Celik said that, "Turkiye wishes for the ongoing discussions between Azerbaijan and Armenia to result in a peace treaty. "if Armenia stops destructive steps, the 3+3 cooperation format will contribute greatly to the regional peace," he added.
Celik also said that the United States demanded that Turkey stop providing support to Azerbaijan over Nagorno-Karabakh. He noted that Washington put forward this demand during the abovementioned period as a condition for sending F-16s to Turkey.
