ArmInfo. Armenian government is discussing the ways of solving the problem of weapons Russia has failed to deliver to Armenia, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said on Friday in a live broadcast as he answered citizens' questions.
As one of the options under discussion, he named writing off Armenia's national debt to Russia in the amount paid for weapons not delivered. "This is one of the options, but not the only one," the prime minister said. At the same time, the head of government noted that today Russia itself needs weapons.
"We are determined to resolve this issue in a working environment. And we hope that the discussions will lead to concrete results," he concluded. Armenian Security Council Secretary Armen Grigoryan officially announced the non-compliance with the agreement on the supply of Russian weapons. He noted that we are talking about several hundred million dollars. Following him, this information was confirmed by Deputy Foreign Minister of Armenia Mnatsakan Safaryan.
Days earlier, speaking live on the radio station "Moscow Speaks," Russian MP Konstantin Zatulin, touching on the topic of weapons that Russia did not supply to Armenia, noted that this issue is not easy: "Yes, they purchased weapons from us. Because of the special operation in Ukraine, we are delaying its delivery. They took advantage of this to turn to others.
