Ani Badalyan, Spokesperson of MFA of Armenia, posted the following message on her X account:
"More reports are coming about imminent danger for sites of Nagorno-Karabakh: according to Caucasus HW this is the fifth Armenian cemetery impacted since Nov. 2020. This once again shows urgency for effective international engagement to protect Armenian historical and religious heritage."
It is Ms Badalyan's response to a post by Caucasus Heritage Watch, which reads:
"DAMAGE ALERT: Between Oct. 5 and Nov. 3 bulldozers carved a road through an historic burial ground in Shusha/i known as the Yerevan Gate cemetery. Nestled amidst the trees are at least 78 Armenian- inscribed tombstones dating between 1802 and 1913."
