ArmInfo. France sold Yerevan real illiquid supplies, which Paris could not sell in other directions. Official representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Maria Zakharova stated this at a briefing on November 22, commenting on the supply of French Bastion armored vehicles to Yerevan.
As the diplomat noted, these armored vehicles in Ukraine showed very low efficiency in real combat conditions. "The arguments about the benefits of supplying this equipment to Armenia look rather naive. If they're just displayed in public spaces, it might make sense. As for the effectiveness, please, you can come, our military will tell you," Zakharova said, adding that exactly how this purchase can strengthen the security of the sovereign territory of Armenia remains a mystery. "Not to mention the fact that such a hodgepodge of military equipment from different industries has never contributed to increasing defense capability," she noted.
Earlier, there were reports in the press that Paris supplied Yerevan with up to 50 units of "Bastion" armored vehicles, although the RA Ministry of Defense did not comment on these reports
