ArmInfo.Armenia is Japan's important partner, outgoing Japanese Ambassador to Armenia Masanori Fukushima stated at his meeting with Armenia's Minister of Health Anahit Avanesyan.
He noted that Armenia aims to deepen bilateral relations, have a developed economy and improve the healthcare sector based on the rule of law.
The ambassador said that further cooperation with Armenia will be aimed at re-equipping Armenian medical centers, as well as overcoming the challenges faced by forcibly displaced citizens of Artsakh.
During the meeting, it was noted that, within the framework of bilateral cooperation, Japan donated the latest medical equipment for clear diagnosis, 39 ambulances equipped with the latest generation equipment to the medical centers of Yerevan and the regions, and also opened a modern pathohistology laboratory in the Vanadzor Medical Center this summer.
The head of the Ministry of Health highly appreciated the ambassador's personal contribution to strengthening Armenian-Japanese friendly relations and the implementation of various healthcare programs.
As a result of Azerbaijani aggression on September 19-20, over 106 thousand citizens were forcibly displaced from Artsakh to Armenia.
