"Azerbaijan captured an Madat Babyan from Martakert. As he's an Armenian over 50, AZ accuses him of war crimes. AZ state media says Babyan was taken during its September attacks, which begs the question: how many more Armenians has AZ secretly abducted?"
Azerbaijan reported the capture of Artsakh resident Babayan the day before. According to the Azerbaijani version, he was captured in occupied Karvachar. This area was transferred by the Armenian authorities to Azerbaijan in November 2020. Babayan is charged with crimes committed during the first Karabakh war. Let us add that this is not the first time that the enemy side captures Armenians and then stages a staged trial of them.
