ArmInfo.The China-Eurasian Council for Political and Strategic Research and David C. Lam Institute for East-West Studies, Hong Kong Baptist University, have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) thereby reaffirming their commitment to mutually beneficial cooperation.
The MoU was signed by Mr Mher Sahakyan, Founding Director of the China-Eurasian Council for Political and Strategic Research and Mr Daniel W. L. Lai, Dean and Chair Professor, Faculty of Social Sciences at Hong Kong Baptist University.
This strategic cooperation, which entered into force on November 1, 2023, defines the main goals of the cooperation. In particular: exchange of scientific information and publications; meetings and consultations of experts; joint conferences, seminars, courses and events; joint research projects and preparation of publications; facilitating the exchange of staff and students.
The first interaction between the two institutions took place on October 27, 2022, when Ph.D. Mher Sahakyan participated in the AsiaGlobal Fellowship program at the University of Hong Kong. At the same time, the parties mutually expressed their readiness to expand cooperation between the China-Eurasia Council for Political and Strategic Research and the David C. Lam Institute for East-West Studies through joint research and academic exchanges.
Sahakyan emphasized that the establishment of a long-term partnership with the David C. Lam Institute for East-West Studies is an important milestone for the China-Eurasia Council for Political and Strategic Research. PhD in Political Science Sahakyan highlighted the achievements of recent collaborations, including a joint seminar at Hong Kong Baptist University attended by more than 58 people, and joint contributions to the forthcoming Routledge Handbook of Chinese and Eurasian International Relations, which will be published by Routledge, the largest the world's leading publisher of scientific works in the humanities and social sciences. He expressed optimism that the Memorandum of Understanding will pave the way for increased cooperation and fruitful results in the future.
