ArmInfo.The passage of heavy vehicles through the Upper Lars international checkpoint (Georgian-Russian border) and the Cross Pass has been resumed, customs attaché of the RA Embassy in Russia Vahan Hakobyan told ArmInfo.
"At about noon, traffic at the Upper Lars checkpoint was restored for heavy trucks," Hakobyan said.
Earlier it was reported that due to precipitation in the form of snow on the Cross Pass, traffic for trucks was closed from 11:00 p.m. Moscow time. The Georgian Military Road is currently the only land route connecting not only Georgia, but also Armenia with Russia. And the Kazbegi - Upper Lars checkpoint is the only checkpoint operating today on the land border of Georgia and Russia. It periodically closes due to bad weather.
