ArmInfo. On September 15, a regular meeting of the Council of Ministers of Internal Affairs of the CIS member states was held in Turkestan, the Republic of Kazakhstan, in which a delegation headed by Minister of Internal Affairs of Armenia Vahe Ghazaryan took part.
The agenda included such issues as interstate search for persons on the territory of the CIS member states, improving road safety, combating drug trafficking on the Internet, combating cybercrime, ensuring public order at railway, water and air transport facilities and others.
RA Minister of Internal Affairs Vahe Ghazaryan spoke at the meeting. He spoke about the process of forming the Ministry of Internal Affairs, establishing the Patrol Service, forming criminal police units and other processes being implemented as part of the reforms. Vahe Ghazaryan drew the attention of the meeting participants to the growth trends in cybercrime and the problem of the distribution of drugs and psychotropic substances via the Internet and emphasized that in order to increase the effectiveness of the fight in this area, it is necessary to take joint measures and develop mutually agreed upon approaches. It is necessary to form specialized units in this area within the CIS.
Specific decisions were made on the issues discussed and relevant documents were signed. The Council of Ministers of Internal Affairs of the CIS member states decided to hold the next meeting in the capital of Belarus, Minsk.
