RA MoD takes steps to avoid destabilization of situation in region -  Deputy Minister

ArmInfo.The Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Armenia, within its powers, is taking  steps to avoid destabilization of  the situation in the region and not to have any negative impact on the overall situation. Deputy Defense Minister Arman Sargsyan stated to journalists on September 11  at the National Assembly of Armenia.

Pointing out the risk of an escalation of violence, the Deputy Head  of the RA Defense Ministry confirmed the information that there is an  accumulation of Azerbaijani troops and equipment on the Armenian-  Azerbaijani border. The Deputy Minister noted that the country's  defense department issued an official statement about this. "In order  to avoid unnecessary tension, it is advisable to follow official  information; we report everything," Sargsyan added.

He noted that there are videos showing that the enemy is amassing  manpower and offensive weapons on the border. <The video clearly  shows the accumulation of artillery and a number of other military  equipment. I don't want to talk about this again, I just urge you to  follow our information, we provide information regularly. Within its  jurisdiction, the Defense Ministry is naturally taking steps in terms  of not destabilizing the situation in the region and not having any  negative impact on the general situation.  Our region is such that  there's always a risk of escalation, but we, as a state, must take  steps in order for this not to turn into escalation or overall major  military actions," concluded Sargsyan.
