ArmInfo. The risk of resumption of hostilities between Armenia and Azerbaijan has increased significantly. Alternative Projects Group expert Vahe Hovhannisyan, shares a similar point of view.
According to his article, the current process will lead to war, because the government of RA Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan made gross mistakes in the content of the negotiations, as a result of which Azerbaijan now has huge expectations regarding Artsakh and 8 enclaves on the territory of Armenia. The situation, according to the expert, is extremely tense, and it is important to correctly present reality and move forward.
Hovhannisyan believes that the current government of Armenia depends on the patience of Aliyev, who needs some time to make final adjustments and safety nets. "All the statements of the West, Russia, Turkey and Azerbaijan indicate this. - this is a real factor, a new unit of measurement in which we find ourselves due to our mistakes. How long is it: a month, two months... that's not the problem. Our task is to get out of this block of calculations. The logic of the blockade, the behavior of the mediators, our dynamically deteriorating relations with Russia prove that this process is leading to war. By and large, the negotiations have already ended because of their incorrect content. This is our problem. Today we have approximately the situation of the summer of 2020. Nikol understands this very well, he is aware that the interruption of negotiations is immediately a war>, the expert emphasized.
In fact, he continued, the current authorities of Armenia are engaged in two things - preparation for a new war and depatriation. "The point is not that the authorities want war or new victims, of course, this is not so. But the steps taken by them led to a serious dead end. Deterioration of the situation with Russia is an extremely adventurous course. Pashinyan has some personal chances, but it will turn into a disaster for the state," Vahe Hovhannisyan said.
