ArmInfo. In the conditions of the ongoing blockade of Artsakh by Azerbaijan, today, July 11, Azerbaijan again blocked the transportation of patients with serious health problems by the International Committee of the Red Cross from Artsakh to the Republic of Armenia, as well as the return of those who have already received proper medical care. This is stated in the statement of the Ministry of Health of Artsakh.
According to theMinistry, in this regard, more than 186 patients are awaiting transfer to the professional medical centers of the Republic of Armenia for emergency medical care.
"Currently, 33 children are being treated in the Arevik Medical Center, 4 of them are in the neonatology and intensive care unit.
102 patients are undergoing inpatient treatment at the Republican Medical Center CJSC, 5 patients are in the intensive care unit, and 2 of them are in critical condition.
The Ministry of Health of Artsakh is taking all possible measures to resolve the situation through negotiations with the International Committee of the Red Cross.
Earlier Azerbaijan accused the ICRC of allegedly transporting unauthorized goods to Artsakh, and under this pretext completely blocked the corridor, which had not been operating for more than six months. We add that the ICRC admitted that without the Organization's knowledge, four hired drivers, tried to transport some commercial goods (cigarettes, telephones, etc.), in their own vehicles which were temporarily displaying the ICRC emblem. These individuals were not ICRC staff members and their service contracts were immediately terminated by the ICRC. Thus, Azerbaijan is trying to strangle the people of Artsakh, which has been in a total blockade since December 12 of this year, deprived of gas, electricity and basic necessities. All this is happening against the backdrop of the inaction of the civilized international community, which, in pursuit of energy resources, forgot about the universal human rights promoted by itself.
