ArmInfo. In 2018-2019, the priority task was to scrutinize the negotiation process - all the details, problems and opportunities, Armenia's Premier Nikol Pashinyan stated at a meeting of the Commission investigating the circumstances of the 44-day war in 2020, in response to a question concerning the reasons why the public was not informed of all the details of the negotiations back in 2018-2019.
"On the other hand, what would have been the aftermath of such statements and what should have been the following steps? And was I myself in harmony with that reality?" Mr Pashinyan said.
According to him, he has put such questions to himself and thought of what would follow - war or peace. That meant publicizing all the details of the negotiation process, with all its domestic, regional and international consequences.
"In the course of rime, I arrived at the conclusion that the topic must be discussed - moreover, it must be done at the Investigative Commission's meeting," the premier said.
Mr Pashinyan admitted that in 2019 he used to informally designate the negotiation process "a war conveyor". "The logic was as follows: give me what I want in a peaceful way or I will get it by war. That was my perception and my task was to understand the factors that would stop that conveyor. Yes, I admit I was unable to do so," Mr Pashinyan said.
