ArmInfo.Free Artsakh has never been nor can ever be part of genocidal Azerbaijan, reads a statement by the Armenian community in Vancouver, posted by the Alternative Projects group on Facebook.
The Armenian community in Vancouver highlights the importance of the Armenian world rallying round Artsakh.
Blockaded and being forced into subjection, Armenians of the world must put forward opposite ideas aimed at Armenian Artsakh's secure existence. Tremendous work has to be done, the statement reads.
The authors emphasize that the Republic of Artsakh has been blockaded for over 160 days.
As a result of Azerbaijan's genocidal steps, the international community's tacit consent and culpable failure of Armenia's government the rights of 120,000 Artsakh Armenians, including 30,000 children, are being grossly violated. Armenia's Premier Nikol Pashinyan, and his party Civil Contract, are stating that Armenia is recognizing Azerbaijan's territorial integrity, including Nagorno-Karabakh. Moreover, Pashinyan is publicly stating that the Armenian villages located in Armenia's sovereign territory belong to Azerbaijan and is ready to surrender the strategically important settlements to the enemy. It is nothing but risking Armenia's communication with Iran and Georgia, which will result in Armenia's blockade with irreversible consequences for Armenians and their peaceful existence in their historical Homeland, the statement reads.
Alienation of Artsakh is in conflict with the fundamental provisions of the Declaration if Independence of Armenia and Constitution of Armenia. on May 22, the National Assembly of Artsakh issued a statement in protest at the Armenian premier's unacceptable statements and reaffirmed the Artsakh Armenians' will to continue living in their forefathers' land and defend their sacred Homeland.
The Armenian community of Vancouver strongly condemns any attempts by Nikol Pashishyan to cede Artsakh to Azerbaijan. It expects Armenia's authorities and the premier himself to immediately stop their antinational activities posing an existential threat to Artsakh, Armenia and the Armenians. It is obvious that Armenia's government is incapable of finding a pro-Armenian solution to the Artsakh conflict, failed the negotiations and are leading the two Armenian states on a disastrous way.
"Nikol Pashinyan has no right to make his personal decisions on behalf of our Homeland at this crucial moment because Armenians worldwide are against capitulation of Artsakh and Armenia and are showing their unqualified support for Artsakh's right to self-determination Nikol Pashinyan and any other officials daring to take steps against free Artsakh must realize they cannot evade responsibility. Any unconstitutional and anti-Armenian activities must be stopped. The Armenian community of Vancouver is calling on the Armenian communities throughout the world to join this statement and clearly state their positions on the actions by Armenia's incumbent leader. Artsakh has never been nor can it ever be under Azerbaijan's control," the statement reads.
