ArmInfo. Armenia and other states have less room for maneuvering as events in Ukraine unfold, Armenia's Premier Nikol Pashinyan stated at the Armenian Forum for Democracy on May 31.
After his resignation on May 10, 2021, Armenia's Parliament was dissolved, and on May 12 Azerbaijani troops made an incursion along the Sotk-Kohznavar section, he said.
"The CSTO did not respond in any way," Mr Pashinyan said, recalling the arrest of a number of high- ranking Armenian officers as "they did not take any actions to defend Armenia's sovereign territory."
"And they cannot provide any explanations. Every thing needs an explanation. Had our actions been 'linear' ones, we would have lost not only our democracy, but also our state - no exaggeration," Mr Pashinyan said.
After the events in Ukraine occurred, Armenia tried to be balanced, including during votes on various international platform. All of Armenia's partners welcomed Armenia's position.
"In the course of time, Armenia and all others have less and less room for maneuvering. It is a most serious challenge for all, especially for Armenia given it is vulnerable," Mr Pashinyan said.
