ArmInfo. Russia plans to open its consulate in Syunik, Armenia. alphanews.am reports referring to Sergey Paltov, an official at Russia's Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
"A decision has been made to avoid complicated government procedures. Armenia approved the opening of Russia's consulate in Syunik during a meeting between Armenia's premier and Russia's president, in Moscow, on May 25," Mr Paltov said.
Russian diplomats will be sent to Armenia's Syunik to work there and contribute to "both maintaining Armenian-Russian friendship and security of this strategically importance Armenian region."
