ArmInfo. Moscow found it difficult to comment on the RA Prime Minister's statement regarding the withdrawal of the CSTO from Armenia.
So, on May 24, during a weekly briefing, official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, when asked to comment on statement of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan that the CSTO left or is leaving Armenia, in particular, said: "I don't technically understand how all this is presented there and we have talked about this many times.
If this is a figurative way of speech, in order to lobby for a position on Armenia's withdrawal from the CSTO, then it seems to me that, nevertheless, one must understand the whole danger of manipulating statements. How can the CSTO leave Armenia? I want to repeat once more: we have already discussed that. It's not even clear what it's about."
It should be noted that on May 22, during a press conference, the RA Prime Minister stated that Armenia has not yet made a decision on participation in the joint exercises of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) in Kyrgyzstan, since Yerevan had the impression that the organization was "leaving Armenia¯. According to him, if Armenia de jure decides to leave the CSTO, it will happen after Yerevan records that the CSTO has left Armenia.
