ArmInfo.The United States is considering the option of creating small nuclear reactors in Armenia, TASS reports referring to Maria Longi, Coordinator of U.S. Assistance to Europe, Eurasia, and Central Asia.
According to TASS, the United States is considering building small modular nuclear reactors in Armenia and other Eurasian states, seeking to strengthen their energy independence from Russia and China.
"And in a number of countries, including Armenia, we are evaluating the feasibility of [creating] small modular nuclear reactors built using American technology and capable of leading to greater energy independence from both Russia and China," she said at a hearing in the Foreign Affairs Committee of the US House of Representatives.
