ArmInfo.Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and Representative of the NATO Secretary General for the South Caucasus and Central Asia Javier Colomina discussed issues related to Armenia-NATO partnership and cooperation.
According to the press service of the Prime Minister, the interlocutors also touched upon the situation on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border, the demarcation of the border between Armenia and Azerbaijan and ensuring the security and stability of the border.
They touched upon the situation around Nagorno-Karabakh, in particular, the humanitarian crisis that arose in Nagorno-Karabakh due to the illegal blockade of the Lachin (Berdzor) corridor by Azerbaijan, the introduction of international dialogue mechanisms between Baku and Stepanakert and other issues.
Yesterday, during a press conference, touching on the Armenia-CSTO relations, Pashinyan did not rule out the possibility of the RA leaving the Organization, stating that "according to the perception of the Armenian side, the organization itself is leaving the RA." <I do not rule out that Armenia may decide to de jure terminate or freeze its membership in the CSTO. But this will happen only if we record that the CSTO has withdrawn from Armenia. That is, in this case, the CSTO de jure participant status, which does not give anything, will only prevent us from discussing the security agenda with other countries. Do you think Armenia did not receive other offers, or opportunities in the field of acquiring weapons from other countries? Of course, it had such an opportunity, but the unavailability of these opportunities was mainly due to Armenia's membership in the CSTO. We were told: you are a member of the CSTO, what should we discuss with you?>, the prime minister said.
