ArmInfo. Armenia's Tourism Committee, jointly with HIKEArmenia, plans to develop hiking in Armenia.
The sides signed a memorandum of cooperation which provides for the construction of a 954-km-long "national trail" that would run across 108 Armenian villages.
The project will facilitate the economic development of Armenia's rural areas as tourists will use local residents' services.
The "national trail" will be put into service in three or four years. HIKEArmenia will invest about $1mln in the project.
