ArmInfo. The European Court of Human Rights rejected the application for interim measures to protect the rights of two Azerbaijani citizens who illegally crossed the Armenian border. This was reported by the office of the representative of Armenia on international legal issues.
The source notes that o On 9 May 2023, the European Court of Human Rights rejected the request of the relatives of two Azerbaijani citizens, who recently illegally crossed the border of the Republic of Armenia, on applying an interim measure under Rule 39 of the Rules of the Court. In particular, the European Court was asked to apply an interim measure , since the families of Azerbaijani soldiers alleged that they were ill-treated in Armenian custody.
The Government of the Republic of Armenia submitted to the European Court the proper position that the conventional rights of Azerbaijani servicemen are duly guaranteed in the Republic of Armenia. In this regard, the RA Government also submitted relevant evidence to the European Court.
