Ibrahim Kalin comments on closure of Turkish airspace for Armenia

ArmInfo. Turkish presidential spokesman Ibrahim Kalin commented on the closure of Turkish airspace  for Armenia.

Thus, according to Turkish media, a representative of the Turkish  presidential administration stressed that Ankara could not but react  to Armenia's latest step. Kalyn, in particular, noted: " Let them not  expect that the actions against Turkey's historical memory and  accusing it of genocide will remain unanswered. This, of course,  would lead to the closure of the airspace."

It should be noted that on April 29, Turkey closed its airspace for  flights of the Armenian airline Flyone Armenia to Europe without  warning, and the airline's Paris-Yerevan flight was forced to land in  Chisinau, and only on the night of April 30 it was able to return to  Zvartnots airport. And already on May 2, the Turkish aviation  authorities did not provide FLYONE ARMENIA with the overflight  opportunity through Turkish airspace. In view of this, the company  was forced to cancel the Yerevan-Paris-Yerevan flight.

In this regard, Cavusoglu stated that Turkey closed the airspace for  Armenian planes "in response to a provocation in Yerevan", namely the  opening of a monument to the participants in the Nemesis operation in  the capital of the Republic of Armenia. The monument to the heroes  was erected in Yerevan on April 25.
