ArmInfo. Armenia is experiencing a security crisis, but this crisis did not arise in one day. On April 21, RA Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated this from the rostrum of the RA National Assembly.
He noted that there is concern in society about the existing uncertainty. However, as the head of government emphasized, this crisis did not arise in 2020, but much earlier. Back in 2011, Armenia's strategic ally, the Russian Federation, signed an arms contract with Azerbaijan worth $3 billion. Pashinyan also pointed out that during the period of former authorities, here were practically no recruitments of reservists, and the lack of training was felt in 2022, when it turned out that most of the mobilized people do not know how to use weapons.
Pashinyan addressed the opposition's criticism of the actions of the authorities, in particular, statements about why the authorities are busy paving roads in the current situation in the country, the funds of which can be used for defense. <Asphalt also has a security task, because asphalt provides, among other things, the movement of troops and security systems. And who said that if today we give 5 billion drams to our army or any state body, they will be able to spend it properly? We have fundamental institutional and practical problems. We cannot fully spend these funds for objective and subjective reasons," the Prime Minister said.
