U.S., Turkey squeezing Russian troops out of Transcaucasia amid  Ukraine conflict - Yevgeny Satanovsky

ArmInfo.The developments in Armenia and Azerbaijan, where the processes involving  Nagorno-Karabakh appear to be nearing completion - and far from being in favor of Armenia much less so in favor the Armenian population of the region [Nagorno-Karabakh]. Rather, the developments are certainly  in favor of Azerbaijan and its ally Turkey, Russia-based expert Yevgeny Satanovsky said. 

Armenia's Premier Nikol Pashinyan recognizes Azerbaijan's territorial  integrity and requests that Baku make a reciprocal step. "In his  turn, Aliyev states that the [Armenian] population of Karabakh either  become Azerbaijani nationals or emigrate. All the peacemakers  throughout the world are cheering [it] to the echo, with foolish  declamations heard at the United Nations. Usual routine," Mr  Satanovsky said. 

In their turn, the United States and Turkey are taking advantage of  Russia being bogged down in the conflict in Ukraine and squeezing  Russian troops out of the Caucasus and establishing control over the  transport corridors there. 

"They will be especially happy about practically inevitable  withdrawal of Russian troops from Nagorno- Karabakh. And they are  sure to make an attempt - most probably a successful one - to  'hijack' the Gyumri base. Iran feels strained, but given a threat of  war with Israel and no occasion for interfering (Pashinyan will never  request their support), it will not come into conflict with Baku,  which means a conflict with Ankara as well. Europe, especially France  and Great Britain, do not deserve any special attention, though we  are going to see the British accompanied by Turks on the Caspian Sea.  They have been promoting this project since the 19th century," the  expert said. 

"By the way, we are going to see (and we are actually doing so in the  context of Turkish-Azerbaijani exercise) Pakistanis as well, with the  U.S. having crushed their military establishment by neutralizing  Imran Khan, who once attempted to balance relations between them,  Russia and China. Still, Pakistan is a nuclear power with a strong  army. And given large military supplies to Ukraine, its orientation  is clear.  Moreover, Islamabad reoriented in favor of Washington and  London thereby doing such a rapid turnaround in its close cooperation  with Bejing - . Big game. Alliances and counterbalances to them are  being formed in a twinkling now. And it is going to be a bang soon.  As usual, peacemakers are escalating the situation into war," Mr  Satanovsky said.
