ArmInfo. Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov and Senior Advisor for the Caucasus negotiations, US Co-Chair of the OSCE Minsk Group Louis Bono discussed the prospects for negotiations on a peace agreement between Azerbaijan and Armenia at a meeting in Baku.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the interlocutors also touched upon other components of the Azerbaijani-Armenian normalization.
Bayramov, by tradition, accused Yerevan of failing to fulfill obligations under a tripartite statement (of the leaders of Azerbaijan, Armenia and the Russian Federation of November 10, 2020), and told stories about some 8 Azerbaijani villages located in the sovereign territory of the Republic of Armenia. Then he touched upon the issue of two Azerbaijani saboteurs, who not only illegally crossed the state border of Armenia on April 9, but also killed a civilian, and stressed the need for their return to their homeland. However, he forgot to tell that several hundred Armenian prisoners of war and civilians have been illegally kept in Baku prisons for the third year already, in violation of the same tripartite agreements.
The parties also exchanged views on other issues of mutual interest.
