ArmInfo. The observation mission of the European Union, which monitors the situation on the borders of Armenia, was unable to register the incident on April 11, because at the time of the provocation it was not near the village of Tegh in the Syunik region of the republic. On April 12, RA Minister of Foreign Affairs Ararat Mirzoyan stated this from the rostrum of the RA National Assembly.
According to him, the Armenian side does not yet have information about the content of the mission's report on this incident, which was sent to the European External Action Service. The minister noted that in case of such incidents, international partners are immediately notified, including the EU and its individual members, expecting a quick response from the latter. As an example, Mirzoyan pointed to yesterday's statement by the Armenian Foreign Ministry, which cites the aggressive actions of the Azerbaijani side. These measures are aimed at preventing further escalation.
On April 11, the Armenian Defense Ministry issued a message according to which Azerbaijani units opened fire on the Armenian servicemen, who were carrying out engineering work in the direction of the village of Tegh, Syunik region. Mortars were also used. According to the Ministry of Defense, four soldiers from the Armenian side were killed and six were wounded.
