ArmInfo.The Pentagon has edited the list of countries that will take part in the previously announced "Defender 23" exercise. In the initial list of participating countries, Armenia was indicated, however, shortly afterwards the report was edited and Armenia was removed from the list.
The exercises will start on April 22 and will last for two months and cover the territory of 10 European countries. About 9,000 US military personnel and 17,000 military personnel from 24 partner countries will take part in them.
In addition to the United States, troops from Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, France, Georgia, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Kosovo, Moldova, Montenegro, the Netherlands, North Macedonia, Poland, Romania will take part in the exercises , Slovenia, Spain, Sweden and the UK. The exercise is designed to demonstrate the ability of the US military to rapidly deploy combat-ready troops and equipment to reassure allies and deter those who threaten peace in Europe.
