ArmInfo. Some 210 Iranian parliament lawmakers in a statement have condemned the opening of the embassy of Azerbaijan in the occupied Palestinian territories as well as the appointment of the Azerbaijani envoy in the region while urging the Iranian foreign ministry to take action in this regard, IRNA reports.
According to the source: "the statement issued on Wednesday said that the government of the Republic of Azerbaijan opened its embassy in Israel and introduced its ambassador to the fake regime in an unbelievable act that was against the Islamic world's interests. Azerbaijani officials' move will bring about various negative political consequences and the Muslims will consider them as accomplices of the Zionist regime in their crimes against the oppressed Palestinians, it added.
The Iranian lawmakers urged the Arab and Islamic governments, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, and the Inter-Parliamentary Union to condemn Azerbaijan's move," noted in the statement.
On March 29, the official opening ceremony of the Azerbaijani embassy in Israel with participation Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov, took place in Tel Aviv. Before the ceremony, Bayramov held talks with his Israeli counteraprt Eli Cohen. We also add that following Bayramov's visit to Israel, it became known about Baku's intentions to purchase from Tel Aviv a batch of missiles of the LORA operational-tactical missile system, the Barak-8 medium-range anti-aircraft missile system and the Iron Dome tactical missile defense system. By the way, "Barak 8" has been in Azerbaijan's arsenal since 2016, and LORA - since 2018. Both systems were used during the aggression of Azerbaijan against Artsakh, and Azerbaijan became the first country to use the LORA OTRK in combat operations.
