ArmInfo. As a result of the policy pursued by Nikol Pashinyan's government, besides that we have not had an ombudsman for three months, but the constitutional law on "Rules of Procedure of the National Assembly" is also being violated. Taguhi Tovmasyan, Chairperson of the Standing Committee on Protection of Human Rights and Public Affairs, said.
She recalled that, according to part 1 of Article 129 of the Constitutional Law on "Regulations of the National Assembly", "every year before April 1, the Human Rights Defender submits to the National Assembly an annual report on the activities carried out, on the state of protection of human rights and freedoms", but there has been no report so far.
"For parliamentary Armenia, this is nothing but a slap in the face of the country's legislative body," Tovmasyan summed up. It should be noted that the Human Rights Defender of Armenia resigned on January 23 this year. So far, a new human rights defender of the country has not been elected, although according to the regulations, the latter had to be nominated and elected within one month.
